In reply to your letter of the 4th instant,
ابنائي .
I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's
Treasury to state that the Deputy Master of the Mint has
been authorized to supply annually to the Hong Kong Govern
-ment subsidiary silver coins to the nominal value of
$1,000,000.
A copy of your letter has been forwarded to
him and I am to suggest, for the consideration of the
Secretary of State for the Colonies, that in future it would
save time if the detailed demands of the Hong Kong Govern-
-ment for further supplies were communicated by His Lord-
ship direct to the Deputy Master of the Mint, instead of
passing through this Department as at present.
Should the Hong Kong Government desire to exceed at any time the fixed annual limit of $1,000,000, special Treasury authority will be required as heretofore.
The Under Secretary of State
Colonial Office.
I am,
Sir,
Your obedient servant
Extamille.
